Dr.S.Arulrhaj The Chairman, a renouned Cardiologist and Intensive Care Physician of India, with his aspiration of serving the needy community in the field of Education, Health care both in Preventive & Curative aspects started Sundaram Hospital in a small level with 30 bedded nursing home in the heart of the “Pearl City” Tuticorin in 1977. Due to impact of our intervention, the tireless work and dedication in his profession, Today it has grown in to a 100 bedded Multispeciality hospital in the name of Sundaram ArulRhaj Hospitals. Now his wards have stepped into the shoes of his Father, serving the needy.
We realized the need of a hospital with modern health care facilities and departments with good doctors and cordial and efficient paramedical staff functioning under one roof. B.1. First Tuesday – Heart Care Camp (HCC –OP)
On every month First Tuesday , we conduct Free Cardiac Camp, Free Echo cardiogram is taken for needed patient.
B.2. Second Friday - Neuro Camp
We have free Neurological camp on every month Second Tuesday.
B.3. Third Tuesday - Women’s Health
Consultation is done free
Ulttrasound evaluation is also done free for pregnancy.

Rural Medical Centers
Health for all by 2000 was our India’s slogan. To contribute for the same, Our foundation has started adopting the Health of a village at Ramdass Nagar, under the name “Family Clinic”. Every Sunday one Medical Officer is conducting OPD Services & Medicines are given free.
The following facilities are also offered:

- Free Special Medical OPD Services of SAH are also offered to them.
Rural Health Sub Centres:
Sundaram ArulRhaj Hospital has established sub-centres at villages in Tuticorin District with the assistance of Sterlite. A Medical Officer and an attendant staff are there in sub centre. “Thinking globally and acting locally” is the byword followed in this Subcentre. These sub centres are at the reach of the poor and provide the villages with primary and secondary medical care. A characteristic feature of these sub centres is Community Participation and Contribution in Health Care to serve about 50,000 population and make them accessible health services. Nearly 150 out-patient are getting treated through this Centre. There are several sub centres functioning in and around Tuticorin district namely,

Under our Trust we have Mobile Clinics in and around to Tuticorin to serve the people who are in emergency.In mobile clinc we have Doctors and Para medical Staffs are available round the clock.
SAH - TRUST CHARITABLE SERVICE AT TUTICORIN AIRPORT
The First Aid Center was started in the year 2010 by Our Chairman, in order to assist the flight passengers who Depart/Arrive at Tuticorin Airport..
Free Medical check up and Management is provided to every passenger.
Free Ambulance serve provided to passenger is needed.
Free Health Awareness Camp:
SAH constantly works towards dispelling fears and misconception related to the most prevailing diseases like Heart diseases, Neuro problems, Diabetics, Cancer, HIV/AIDS in the rural areas of Tuticorin Districts. It also concentrates on increasing the health awareness level and treatment seeking behaviour among the rural population through various camps for improving their health status. Co-ordinating with Voluntary Agencies. Check up, investigations & drugs are given freely ..
i) Diabetes awareness camp.
Diabetic Exhibition and explanation to patients about Diabetes, Dietary advice & Treatment options. Public Questions & Answers sessions is also conducted. Urine sugar & Blood sugar are checked and drugs given freely.
ii) Heart Care Camp & Heart Surgeries selection.
BP. ECG are checked freely. Selected cases undergo Echocardiogram & eligible cases are chosen for surgery.
iii) General Medical Camp:
Team of Doctors visit the village and offer Health checkup and distribute free drugs
